DURHAM REGION CELEBRATES CREATIVE ENTREPRENEURS
Creative Social: Port Perry travels to the Township of Scugog to host Durham Region’s monthly roaming networking event on Thursday, May 31st.
Creative entrepreneur Dana Jackson has partnered with Durham Tourism and Spark Centre to create a successful formula for connecting the creative-minded of Durham Region. Their popular networking event, Creative Social, just celebrated its 4th sold-out success in Cannington, Ont., and continues on to Port Perry, Ont. this month to feature Durham’s food, drink, artists, and community entrepreneurs.
Creative Social networking events are held on the last Thursday of every month in rotating local municipalities of Durham Region. Creative Social aims to connect all types of creative people to discuss opportunities for collaboration and new business in Durham Region.
The Rotary Community Room and Kent Farndale Gallery (231 Water St., Port Perry, Ont.) hosts Creative Social: Port Perry on Thursday, May 31, from 7 to 10 p.m. This event features key speakers Chuck Newton, President of the North Durham Camera Club, Tova Langhan, Owner of Tova Natural Soap, and Patrick Lyver, CEO of Kleurvision. There will be a musical performance by The Darrin Davis Band and an interactive arts piece by local fine artist, Patty Kingsley. Tickets are $10 and include entry, a complimentary drink and light snacks.
“There is so much talent in Durham Region,” says Event Co-ordinator, Dana Jackson. “Creative Social events are introducing the web designer to the sculptor, the writer to the restaurateur, the artist to the investor, and creating a richer, more sustainable creative community. Port Perry is such a creative hub in Durham Region; we are so excited to be bringing the party there next.”
